Abstract

This paper aims at x-raying "Engineering and Technology" as a stimulating transformer for national development. The present state of engineering and technology, issues, challenges and setback were critically reviewed to see their shortcomings, strength and prospect offered to national development. From the survey carried out, it was revealed that there were lapses and shortcomings in the development of appropriate engineering and technology in Nigeria that will transform meaningful national development. The paper then, further proposes national development building model and way forward in enhancing the national development through the application of appropriate engineering and technology.
